Researchers from New York have warned people all over the world that the increasing global warming has made more and more people at risk of suffering from cardiovascular diseases, digestive and kidney problems and stressed caused from heat. Climate change and increasing heat is the main reason behind the risk while these changes have been effecting the older and the urban population the most. The urban population has been facing more and more chronic diseases with time. The researchers studied the data from the Lancet Medical Journal realizing that people from Middle East and Europe tend to be suffering the most due to the presence of large population belonging to the older generation while the people from Asia and Africa are least effected as the regions contain more of younger generation. Professor at Britain’s York University who was partially responsible for leading the research, Hilary Graham explained that the climatic changes increases the vulnerability and health dangers for the present and the future. The study was carried out in 27 academic institutions by the specialist from the health, ecology and engineering department and also received help from all over the globe through the governmental agencies and United Nations. World Health Organization explained that the rapid change in the climate will also effect basic human needs like clean water, air, shelter and food, while it is also predicted that in the future from the time period of 2030 to 2050 extreme heat will cause almost 2,50,000 deaths through diseases like diarrhea, malnutrition, heat stress, and malaria. It was also discovered that in the year 2017 millions of people suffered from extreme heat and heat waves, while there was also lose of billion hours of labor. Researchers explained that even minor changes in the temperature and some rainfall can help prevent many diseases that spread through water and insects including malaria, cholera and dengue fever. A well-known health and climate specialist, Howard frumkin stated that these weather changes affects our lives directly in the ways like crop failures, driving wild fires and also large scale spread of infectious diseases, therefore we need to take more effective and immediate actions to protect our planet and human life.
